Piano Bench Selection Used Piano Benches For Sale - call (208) 484-8520 Piano benches vary in size.  The standard bench built today is 19 inches tall. The standard top size is 14 x 30 inches. The distance from the top of piano keys to the floor is 28 1/2 inches in many pianos today.  The distance from top of keys to top of bench is normally 9 1/2 - 10 inches. When you buy a used piano bench for your piano you should measure from the floor to the top of the keys, then subtract 9 1/2 inches.  This is the height you need your piano bench to be as an average.  Children may need more and some adults may need less.  Many older pianos measure over 30 inches from floor to top of keytops.
